Divorced and thinking of marrying again

Guys, I got divorced around 8 years ago, and lucky me my X-wife did not try to take it all from me. My pension is in-tacked and my 401K took a small hit and I stayed in the house.

I met a young lady a year ago and we been living with each other for almost 9 months. Initially when I met her she said she was not interested in getting married and recently she change her mind decide that is something she wants us to do.

This is the situation:
I'm 56 years of age, Engineer, working for a good firm for 35 years, make a decent salary. I have a small alimony that I'm paying my X-wife, thinking of retiring in five years, a good 401K, and a good pension awaiting me at retirement.

My girlfriend is 49 years of age, not currently working and living off a small pension from her X-husband that is not reliable and could dis-appear or die at any moment..
In other words she could loose her pension at anytime.

I'm concern, if I marry her, will she be entitled to half of my assets, pension, and 401K should she decide to divorce me in a few years?

I live in Virginia, however my pension started in Delaware.

If she divorce me within a few years will she entitled to my pension and also a split of my 401K?
How do I protect myself before getting married, so she will not decapitate me should she decide to divorce me in a few years?

I don't want to insult her by asking her to sign a Prenuptial agreement.

I'm in love, however I don't want to be foolish with my decisions..
Please help.....

You need to do the prenuptial

Lots of ways to protect yourself, but the prenuptial is the least expensive.
much easier doing before marriage than after. Also women have a tendency to agree before marriage that after. do it now. You just need to tell her that you need to do this. Protecting assets after marriage is not a good idea.

Assets can be put in trusts but they need to be done right.
