your response to generalizations

Well it's nice to see someone from your side of this situation open and willing to answer our questions...thank you!

Hopefully you can shed some insight onto this, one of the most common questions people ask when guys from the US marry beautiful women from Ukraine: Why do the women want to marrry guys from the US? Obviously there is some advantage to living in the US, but i have been told that a lot of the guys who live in Russia/Ukraine aren't very family oriented. Is this true? I would love to hear your side of this issue...

Russian women don't like Russian men

I can honestly say that every Russian male I've met, I have liked. But they are a serious people and the life in Russia or Ukraine is ruled by their equivalent of the mob. If you want a business in Russia, you go see the local mob. Also, they don't look at women the same as western men. Women are a sub-human species to the men there, not equal, not to be given business decisions, not to handle finances, just a lot of NOTs. The women like westerners because the attitude is much more conducive to equality. Westerners are more gentle.

Yet, several Russian women I've known have Russian husbands. They have each been married for many years. They have adult children. But these families live in the United States. I wonder if the marriages would be different if they lived in Russia.

It is not a generalization to say that Russia is male dominant society. Oddly, they refer to their nations as "mother" Russia.

Ironic, yes, but very Russian.

Russian women don't like Russian men?

This topic about Russian women and a supposed dislike of Russian or Eastern European men is ludicrous. If this were true, millions of Russian marriages would not exist.

I think the issue is really twofold: alcoholism and poverty. Russian men drink a great deal of voldka and the economy of Russia is nowhere near as good as the USA. Russian women don't want to marry alcoholic men who have a dim future economically. It is not a pretty picture in Eastern Europe.

Also, organized crime is rampant in Russia, and many Russian men are influenced by it.

Russians are wonderful people, but lead difficult lives compared to their American counterparts. For these reasons, Russian women desire to marry Western men.

This is my take on the subject.
