depending im sure

That list will not cover every country you could move to, and obviously there are many countries where you wouldn't actually be happier. But if you know what you want to do with your life and have priorities in order, you can find countries that fit your lifestyle perfectly, you just have to do the research. Keep talking with people on this forum and you might get some suggestions on good places to go depending on what you do for a living, what you do for fun, what you want your future to hold.

Living abroad is better?

I have two older friends who live abroad and have for several years. One in Costa Rica, the other in Bangkok. Both do not follow the expat scenario specifically because both followed promotions from their differing companies to land in their destinations. They've since gone 'native' and swear never to return to the USA except for visits to family or necessary company occassions.

I've gotten earfulls from each friend about Thai women and Latin women. Blah blah blah. I get earfulls of comparrison between Thai women and American women, Latin women and American women. Evidently, American women are nazi feminists while women abroad are not. I don't believe it, but I've certainly heard the arguments enough to quote each completely.

So I've asked my friends, why not marry a Thai or Latin woman? Evidently, my friends are aging horndogs and not "marriage" oriented. They can afford maids, cooks, and ritzy digs, but not with wives attached.

I've expressed my opinion to them like this: find me a beautiful Thai woman or Latina who will be a great wife, and then I'll consider living abroad. But not alone. I'm too old for the singles scene in any country. I just want my bath drawn and a glass of whiskey on the rocks on the side of the tub, a little jazz playing in the background. And make the tub big enough for two. Now you're talking.
