All these ladies on the internet look like models. They can’t ALL be that beautiful. How do you know if they’re for real?

Hi William- Yeah I know what yo mean. When I first got started I thought the same thing. Truthfully most guys put too much imortance on the photo, and the bio information. The trick is just to mail a whole bunch of letters, maybe a hundred or so, and see what their answer is and how does the next picture look But most of what you need to know will be in that first letter. well, isn't it one of the reasons you guys look for a Russian girl to start with? I agree that most girls posted on dating websites look amazingly great and there are a few good reasons for it:
1. Russian and Ukranian women are truly beautiful.
2. The most beautiful ladies feel like they definetly deserve better than getting bad Russian husbands and continuing to live in a poor country. They feel like they have the most chance to make a better match. You guys are getting "creme de la creme" of the FSU ladies. How lucky!!!
3. Many of those photographs are professional "glamor shots". Not to say that these women are not beautiful but may be they are a bit "more real" looking once you actually meet them. If you are writing to someone for a while, ask them to send you some regular pictures taken in real life. You will be able to see your lady as she really is.
And remember, that beauty is only skin deep anyway. There are many other redeeming qualities these ladies posess. They are usually also smart, educated, independent and sincere.

Wow... what a scam
:o This is what I don't see very often... Those girl who posted the picture of "herself" took it in the Ukrainian magazine for women. I live in Ukraine myself and I see this model very often... she's Miss Ukraine 1998 or something like that.
This is not her, that's for sure.

I spent three years in the States and then I visited my home town. I was shocked to see so many stunning girls around. Mostly because my native town is a students town and girls come from other cities to study. But one would not find that many attractive males. I can't figure it out myself.
In the States however men are rather attractive, and one could meet couples when he is a better looking than her (which is practically impossible in Russia) I agree with Paulina that physical beauty is only one of the factors we should consider. Beauty fades, personality stays.

Models
I have met quite a few ladies from FSU. One lady must be in her 60's and still looks very attractive. What attracts me is the beauty of the ladies inside and out. Very charming. I agree that you have to meet a number of women to find the right one but in my experience 90% of the women are beautiful so maybe that is why men can be scammed because he sees a gorgeous woman's photo and develops an instant attraction to an image. I think you have to meet the real person. Maybe not hundreds but find the ones that you have the most in common with. Are american men really that good looking? Thanks Ophelia, maybe there is hope for me. :)
