Few good tips if you are considering a Russian woman
Hi,
I was born and raised in Russia, so I know Russian women, Russian language and culture.
A couple of tips:
You should know that before you can bring a girl here on a fiance visa (K-1)
you will have to meet her in person outside of the USA and have proof of that (airline tickets, hotel vouchers, photos of you and your girl together, etc.).
So if you are not willing or prepaired to travel, this might not be for you.
A single Russian woman generally can't get into the USA any other way than on a Fiance (K-1) visa that you will have to initiate.
You should also be aware that in order for you to qualify for a Fiance visa
Department of Homeland Security will ask you to produce your income tax
returnes for the past 3 years that show you make income that is at least 25%
above the US poverty level which is around 15K a year.
Basically you will not qualify if your adjusted gross income is much under
$20K a year, unless you have substantial cash or real estate assets or have a co-signer.
I successfully went through this
whole process myself and I can share my experience and knowledge with you. The fact that I'm a native Russian speaker helped tremendously! It is very important
for both you and a girl to communicate freely, without any language barrier so that you could get to know each other on a deeper level. Even if a girl has some knowledge of english, believe me, it won't be enough to accomplish that! you really will need to get yourself an enterpretor fluent in both American English and Russian. Figure of speach, jokes, slang, humor can not be translated word for word and need to be enterpreted by someone who is fluent in both languages! This is the only way you and a girl can get to know each other well, before making the big step!
Get to know your girl's family! That's where her values are coming from! I got to know my mother and father in law very well before marrying my wife and bringing her here.
Also it's important to know that Russia and Ukraine are huge countries with many different ethnic groups, languages and cultures. Their sets of values are also very different in different regions. Some areas would be wise to stay away from!
If you know where to look and how to talk to them there are millions of Russian women who are good, decent, solid human beings,
who would make a great partner in life.
Needless to say they are a lot more feminine, sexy and beautiful than an average American woman.

I agree with everything Ed posted in the above post except maybe the income part.
I think you will need considerable more income than the minimum allowed to even consider this. The trips, phone calls, and expenses can easily cost $15k to $20K PER YEAR every year and when she arrives there will be many additional costs, education, possible dental costs, additional insurance, driving lessons, more insurance, English lessons, clothing, etc calls back home to loved ones, a trip back home every year, spending money etc
The minimum required is simply not enough for to bring an RW here on a K-1 visa.
Maybe if you lived on the Mexican border and knew a lady in Mexico you could accomplish a K-1 with her with something close to the bare minimum, which I think is where they came up with the minimums thinking along those lines.
This is certainly not an inexpensive endevour

Russian Women
Seven years ago I met and married a Russian woman. Obsticles were many, challenges great but the reward was well worth it.
Others have posted that to qualify for K-1 visa you must make at least $20K per year adjusted groose income.
Better think again. Are you willing to spend $5,000 to $6,000 just for the trip. Then another $2,000 to $4,000 to bring her hear. Then another $2,000 to $5,000 for green card to live hear.
Russian women are not spend thrifts but neither are they going to live in poverty in the United States. I know many American-Russian couples in the United States. If you make $50K plus then you have a chance. Not because they are greedy but because they want a better life than Russia.
Now they have two views, Marry for Love and Marry for Security. If Security presents itself then this takes priority over Love. To love and be poor they can stay in Russia.
I was lucky. I met my wife through a friend and she married me for love and security.
Russian women are giving and very loyal as long as they feel appreciated and attended to.
There is a saying I believe is a Russian Woman's creed.
"You are the man. Act like one. I am a woman and not a man. You will speak and I will listen. You will make the decisions. I will speak and I would like you to listen. You better listen before you make decision. The bed in the other room is lonely and cold. But not as cold as our bed if you do not consider what I say."
My Russian has brought me much happiness, but we struggled with her adjustment, idealogy, self realization and coming to understand she is not an American woman (Thank God).

Make sure your financial affairs are in order before making a huge investment in time with a potential Russian bride.
