Tips to improve Marriage relationships

These are things I have learned to improve my marriage:

1. Give surprise gifts. Breakfast in bed (or even just coffee), flowers, a day trip to the beach... This let her know she is appreciated.
2. Pray for more love, joy and happiness in your marriage. Some friends shared this tip with me... and it made a big, big difference!
3. No porn! Selling a portion of your soul to the devil to taste of his offerings also gives demons rights in YOUR LIFE. They will begin work immediately to destroy your relationships, finances, peace and even your connection to God. Lose porn, and your intimacy with your wife will increase immediately.
4. If you say something you do not mean, retract it immediately.
5. Do not yell in arguments. Speak exactly what you feel. Be honest.
6. Listen. Repeat back what she says. This way, you understand what she is saying, and she understands you care.
7. Remove divorce as an option. People will make it work when they want to stay. It will not remain difficult if you don't want it to. See #1.
8. Remove any witchcraft, pagan items or idols from your house. See #3.
9. Do not complain about things she does that annoy. Instead, put it completely in God's hands. I prayed, "Lord, please change her heart that she will not stay up until 2 am talking to her family." And, within a few days, she apologized for this and suggested a new routine.
10. Women of the former communist bloc went without A LOT in their lives. Do not begrudge them some shopping.

uhhh no

I am gonna go ahead and have to disagree with some of the items on your list. I'm not saying they are all bad, and some of them definitley will make a relationship better, like #1 I also think is very important, that is something you can lose over time.
Other things on your list seem more like personal preference and opinion than general relationship advice, such as praying for a good marriage, not watching porn, and removing pagan beliefs from the home. These might be factors that would help you, personally, but probably will only help the guys who believe the same things as you. It seems that you are some form of Christian, since you suggest praying, avoiding porn, and avoiding other religious beliefs.

9. Do not complain about things she does that annoy. Instead, put it completely in God's hands. I prayed, "Lord, please change her heart that she will not stay up until 2 am talking to her family." And, within a few days, she apologized for this and suggested a new routine.

I understand praying is helpful, and some believe in its outcomes more than others, but to suggest that you can ask God for things and they will be given is just a bit too simplistic and a bit unbelievable. If you have a problem with your wife staying up til 2 am, TALK TO HER ABOUT IT! We might have a lower divorce rate if we prayed a little less and communicated a little more.

lol good point

That is actually pretty funny, but I agree - maybe if we prayed a little less and actually communicated with each other a little more there would be less sadness and divorce. If you have problems with your marriage or relationship why not just talk about it? People like to hide their feelings too much, to the point where they are doing things they don't even want to do just because the problem is easier to ignore than to deal with. Sometimes a problem is there and we cant see it because we are so involved in other things in our life - poeople just need to say what they are thinking instead of lying and the world would be a better place

long-term relationships

I was in a long term relationship once and it lasted about a year. We then were able to move close together but sseparate about two years later.

Anyways that doesnt mean i cant offer some help on long distance. The way we really made it work was phone and skype. really it sounds obvious but doing those things every day or almost every day will be worlds of difference from doing it once a week or so. when yo uarent close you need to increase that intimacy through your voices , connecting over thoughts etc

sending letters hand-written is also a great touch. she will send you perfume sprayed letters and it will make you feel like shes there.

also send her gifts. her being able to hold somethinhg from you means a lot

it depends on the people

This all depends on the people involved. There are many men and women who will not handle a long relationship like this even if they talk all day long and use video and letters and chat to stay in touch.

The difference is touch, some people no matter how much they try to make a relationship work cant do it without thed sense of touch and i have seen this with my own two eyes. you can bend over backwards but if she is the person who needs physical all the time you don't have chance.

what i had happen was the woman told me everything was going good and then i found out on my own that she was having a relationship with someone in the city she was living in at the time. She did not change or act different that i could notice but she was doing all this stuf on the side and i had no idea.

I think she wanted our relationship to work but couldnt handle the physical limits she saw. it sucks but being realizistic is better than lying to yourself.

If you guys are menat to be together and you both feel that way you shoud not have a problem really
